Flag Rules Change

VA Secretary Eric Shinseki announced changes that will allow flags to be placed on grave sites at National cemeteries on Memorial Day and any other day of the year on a case-by-case basis. Federal rules had previously prohibited placement of American Flags on any day other than Memorial Day, including Veterans Day. The rule change was made at the request of Rep. John J. Duncan, Jr. (R-Tenn.).
